The Religious Education Program at OLS is responsible for the total Evangelization and Catechesis of the youth and adult members of the church as well as the unchurched. It takes responsibility for the CCD (Course of Christian Doctrine for youth) and the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). It also may include future development of Youth Ministry, Ongoing Adult Education and Ecumenical Actitivies.

The program for the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is an annual program which begins in the Fall and carries through to the Sacraments of Initiation for those who chose to continue their pursuit of the faith in the Catholic Church. It consists of a time of inquiry, followed by candidacy, the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation) at the Easter Vigil and followed by a time of Mystagogia in which followers are introduced to the life of a Christian.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

All who have a desire to learn about the Catholic faith, this is for you. Come and see us!
Any adult wishing to complete their Sacraments, First Communion and Confirmation are also welcome.
For more information, please call the office @ 559-642-3454 or Virginia Molloy @ 642-6824.

Realizing the importance of each child being properly prepared to experience Christ in the Sacraments and in the Church, it is essential that the Church and the family form a solid partnership and define the roles and responsibilities of each.

REGISTRATION TIME is generally held two months before the first day of classes. Announcements and registration forms are made available after Sunday Mass and also announced on the parish Sunday Bulletins. The director of Religious Education will be in the office full time during registration periods and parents are informed to come in with a copy of the Baptismal Certificate of the child to fill out the registration form. Appointments can be made by calling the Director at the parish office.
